Jeremy Tua

Jeremy Tua has been working with clay for seven years, focusing especially on wheel-thrown pieces. Inspired by the clean lines of Scandinavian design as well as the playfulness of mid-century modern interior design, He prioritises form, using simple glazing techniques to highlight the shapes of his pieces. Jermey is based at Space for Clay, where he also teaches.
The “Combinations” collection explores emergent form. Each piece is made of multiple wheel-thrown components, allowing for features not typically seen in singular wheel-thrown items, such as internal floors and a lack of complete circular symmetry. Each piece also includes several poured glaze parabolas that can be interpreted as landscapes, human figures or even a simple form of language.
